19th Amendment

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."

The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. It wasn't until fifty years after African American male could vote that this amendment was passed by allowing women to vote.

The 19th Amendment was passed by president Woodrow Wilson, which helped his campaign. In my opinion I think everybody should be treated equally. It doesn't matter what color skin you are, religion, gender, age, or ethnicity, people should have the same equality no matter what. I guess back in the days, people considered women as property such as African American. Woman's suffrage has come a long before they were granted the right to vote thanks to Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony; however they did not live to see their dream come true.

The message the cartoon is saying that men are more powerful than women. The woman in the cartoon is trying to crack a large nut and the message on the nut is saying that there is no equal suffrage in this country. What I found humorous about this cartoon is the message "A nut she doesn't try to crack!" Even though women' suffrage is wrong, I think they have come a long way to fight for their rights and should be treated equally just like men.
